Affiliate Disclosure

Rateboard is free to use. To keep it that way, we earn money from advertising and, in a few places, from affiliate links. This page explains what that means and how it affects (and does not affect) what you read here.

Amazon Associates

Rateboard is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Rateboard earns from qualifying purchases.

If you click an Amazon link on Rateboard and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Prices and availability on Amazon are set by Amazon and its sellers and can change at any time.

Other affiliate partners

We may join additional affiliate programs; any affiliate link is disclosed. If you click one of these links and sign up or buy, we may receive a commission. Financial product links, if any, will never be mixed into our survey averages.

Some pages contain affiliate links (for example, SmartCredit via CJ). Rateboard may earn a commission when you sign up through them. This never affects the rates we show.

Some links, including WalletHub links, are affiliate links and Rateboard may earn a commission.

Our own products

Rateboard may sell a digital Rate Shopping Kit through Gumroad. When we mention it, we identify it clearly as our own product. Buying it is never required to use any Rateboard calculator or guide.

Advertising

Rateboard shows display ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are labeled "Advertisement" or "Sponsored." We do not choose which individual ads Google shows, and an ad's appearance is not an endorsement. See our Privacy Policy for how ad cookies work and how to opt out.

How we keep content independent

  • Rate averages come from public sources listed on our About page and are never sold or adjusted for advertisers.
  • Guides are written to be useful on their own. We keep affiliate links few and relevant, and each one is disclosed near the link.
  • We do not accept payment for positive coverage.
  • A product being linked does not mean it is right for you. Compare options and read the terms yourself.

How you can tell

Affiliate links on Rateboard are marked with a short note such as "(affiliate link)" or a disclosure line near the link. Links to government agencies, data sources, and other reference sites are not affiliate links.

This disclosure is provided in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and testimonials. Questions? See our Contact page.
